If you have decided to install that floating shelf on your own, then you will need a spirit level, a screw driver, drill, pencil, screws and fixings, goggles, hammer, extension cord and AC electrical detector.

First of all, place the bracket on the wall in the right position and mark it will a pencil. Check the level of the marks with a spirit level after which, you can make marks for the screws. Then get a masonry drill, put on your safety goggles and drill the holes safely and slowly. If you are going to keep heavy things on the shelf, then use butterfly toggles to provide extra support.

With bracket in the position, fix the screws carefully. You can leave them looser initially so that any kind of adjustments can be easily done. When you are happy with the work, you can tighten all screws as much as possible. With this, you have fixed your floating shelf on your desired place.
