Essentials of floor varnishing
Floor varnishing needs to follow a few steps. Varnishing to start with has to be done on a hard and rigid floor. There should not be any cracks or holes on the surface of the floor. If they are they should be covered up by using putty or any other filler. Any raised areas or splotches should be evened out as they will probably leave a rough area breaking the uniformity of varnish.
The floor should be absolutely dry before and after the varnishing and probably be left to dry completely. Using a sander to smoothen the floor and then using the vacuum cleaner to clear all the dirt of the floor is a good idea before one goes ahead with the varnishing. A few layers of varnish have to be applied. It is a good idea to add thinner for the first layer of varnish and then probably two more layers of varnish have to be applied over it without a thinner.
