Adding a Kitchen Island

nullKitchen Island gives extra storage area and working surface, which is needed as the family grows and more food is required to be prepared. If you are planning to add a Kitchen Island, then first of all, you will have to clear out all your chairs, tables and freestanding racks from your kitchen. Then locate the center point of your kitchen and bring in the 1st cabinet. Lightly mark the center of the cabinet on the underside and match it up with the center mark on the floor.

Bring all the cabinets and line them up. Make sure that there is enough space in the kitchen so that the doors and drawers of the island open easily, and there is enough space to use the island appliances.

Cut some 2×4 wood blocks and surround the cabinets on all sides. Screw these blocks on the floor and set the cabinets over them. Join the cabinets from top, back and sides and make sure that they are intact and cannot fall apart while using.
